See the bigger picture. Find your direction.
What we think, feel and do is intertwined with our relationships, experiences and the circumstances we live in. A decision about work can involve belonging. A familiar reaction can reflect an expectation we’ve carried for years. Something we want to change may be connected to parts of life we hadn’t considered.
MindJuMp brings these connections into view.
Founded by Ivana Song, Human Systems Strategist, MindJuMp brings together neuroscience, psychology, systems thinking and lived experience through mentoring, strategic thinking and writing. Mental clarity, emotional regulation and the practical application of insight are central to the work.
What looks like one problem rarely exists on its own
You may know what you want, yet find that taking the next step affects more than you expected. Perhaps a choice changes a relationship, challenges an established role or asks you to approach responsibility differently.
Looking at the wider context helps us understand what’s involved, what keeps a pattern in place and where there’s room to act.
We begin with what matters to you. The work develops from there.
The MindJuMp Approach
Human behaviour makes more sense when we consider the circumstances in which it develops.
The MindJuMp Approach explores how thinking, emotion, identity and relationships influence one another, alongside the pressures and expectations of everyday life. Scientific knowledge informs the work, while your particular situation gives it focus.
Understanding becomes useful when it changes how you approach a conversation, respond under pressure or make a decision that matters.
Understanding people within the lives they actually live
A thought, feeling or reaction rarely tells the whole story on its own. Its meaning depends partly on what’s happened before, what matters to us and what’s happening around us now. The MindJuMp Approach explores how these experiences and circumstances connect.
Developed by Ivana Song, Human Systems Strategist, it combines neuroscience, psychology, behavioural science and systems thinking with lived experience. The purpose is to make that understanding useful in the situations where you want something to be different.
Connecting the dots
We explore how behaviour relates to context, how decisions connect with identity and how communication unfolds within relationships. Sometimes the important connection is close to the question you brought. Sometimes it leads us further. A difficulty saying no may involve the role you’ve come to occupy in a relationship. A decision you keep postponing may carry consequences that haven’t yet been given enough attention.
Seeing those connections gives us a more precise starting point for the work.
Mental clarity
Mental clarity involves recognising what deserves your attention, distinguishing assumptions from what you know and considering the implications of a choice. More information doesn’t always make a decision easier. Sometimes we need to examine how we’re interpreting it, which expectations we’re treating as fixed and what we’ve left out of the picture.
That can open possibilities we hadn’t previously considered.
Emotional regulation and stress
Emotions influence attention, interpretation and action. Under pressure, it can become harder to pause, consider another perspective or respond in a way that reflects our intentions. Emotional regulation supports our ability to stay engaged with what’s happening and choose how to respond. We work with ways to recognise emotional responses, manage stress and make that capacity available in everyday situations.
The aim is to be able to use your understanding when it matters, including when the circumstances are demanding.
Patterns, identity and relationships
Familiar patterns can become woven into our sense of who we are. Being dependable, accommodating or highly capable may matter deeply to us, while also shaping what we take on and what we find difficult to change. Relationships have patterns of their own. What one person does influences the other, and their response feeds back into what happens next.
We consider both the individual and the wider dynamic, paying attention to the roles, expectations and circumstances that help a pattern continue.
From understanding to practice
The work connects insight with situations you encounter outside our conversations. That may involve preparing for a difficult discussion, approaching a decision differently or noticing what happens when you change a familiar response. We return to what you observe, consider what helped and refine the approach where needed.
Mentoring and strategic thinking provide structure. Your experience keeps the work grounded.

Meet Ivana Song
My life isn’t perfect. Neither am I. What I’m exceptionally good at is connecting aspects of a situation that can be difficult to see from within it. My work brings together scientific knowledge, systems thinking and experience gained through business, communication, caregiving, writing and life itself. I’ve been curious about people for as long as I can remember. That curiosity continues to shape how I work…
What clients say
Clients speak of recognising patterns, finding possibilities where they’d seen obstacles and gaining greater trust in their own abilities. Some describe relief and self-acceptance. Others notice changes in areas of life we hadn’t worked on directly.
Who better to tell you what working together can bring than the people I’ve worked with!
